Flag of Switzerland

A red square with a centred white cross of equal arms — one of only two square national flags in the world, the other being Vatican City. The white cross has been used as a Swiss symbol since the 14th century, originating with the Old Swiss Confederacy. Red is the traditional colour of Switzerland. Codified for the Swiss army in 1841 and as the national flag at the founding of the modern Swiss federation in 1848. The flag of the International Red Cross is its inverse — a direct tribute to Swiss founder Henry Dunant. Practise the Switzerland flag in the Flagzio Europe flag quiz across all eight game modes.
