Three horizontal bands of yellow (double width), blue and red. Yellow for the gold of the New World; blue for the seas separating Colombia from Spain; red for the blood of those who fought for independence. The colour scheme was designed by Francisco de Miranda in 1806. Adopted by Colombia in 1861. Almost identical to Ecuador (which adds a coat of arms) and Venezuela (which adds stars and a coat of arms). Practise the Colombia flag in the Flagzio Americas flag quiz across all eight game modes.
