Three horizontal bands of red, white and blue with the Croatian coat of arms — a red-and-white chequered shield topped with five smaller shields — centred. Pan-Slavic colours; the chequered shield (šahovnica) has been a Croatian symbol since the 10th century. The five smaller shields represent historic Croatian regions. Adopted on December 22, 1990 after Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia. Practise the Croatia flag in the Flagzio Europe flag quiz across all eight game modes.
