Three horizontal bands of light blue (double width), yellow and green, with a yellow sun with 24 rays in the upper-fly corner. Light blue represents happiness and peace; yellow represents economic development; green represents prosperity, hope and work. The sun represents enlightenment. Designed by Alphonse Kirimobenecyo and adopted on October 25, 2001, replacing the previous red-yellow-green flag, which carried associations with the 1994 genocide. Practise the Rwanda flag in the Flagzio Africa flag quiz across all eight game modes.
