Flag of Turkey

A red field with a white crescent moon and five-point star, both offset slightly toward the hoist side. The crescent and star are ancient symbols of the Turkic peoples and of Islam. Red has long been the colour of Turkish identity. Variations of this flag date to the Ottoman Empire. The Republic of Turkey codified the modern dimensions in 1936. The Turkish design directly inspired flags of Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Pakistan and several other Muslim-majority nations. Practise the Turkey flag in the Flagzio Asia flag quiz across all eight game modes.
