Flag of Taiwan

Red field with a blue rectangle in the canton containing a white sun with twelve triangular rays. Red for the blood of revolutionaries; blue for liberty, justice and democracy; white for fraternity and equality. The twelve rays represent the twelve traditional Chinese hours, symbolising progress. Designed by Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary movement; adopted as the flag of the Republic of China in 1928. Continues to fly over Taiwan.
