Flag of Ukraine

Two equal horizontal bands of blue over yellow. Blue represents the sky; yellow represents the wheat fields of Ukraine. The simple, agrarian symbolism has made the flag a powerful visual identity, especially since 2022. Officially restored on January 28, 1992 after Ukrainian independence from the Soviet Union. The blue-and-yellow combination has been used since medieval times by the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia and was the flag of the short-lived Ukrainian People's Republic (1917–1921).
